Child's calming effect
16 people found this helpful
Excellent valerian! As a teacher with two decades of experience, I can say that pharmacy valerian never helped me. However, this herb calmed my child significantly, facilitating sound sleep. One evening, when my child was unwell, I made valerian tea. Remarkably, he fell asleep instantly and slept peacefully all night. Curiously, I decided to try it myself and, astonishingly, I was asleep within half an hour. I conclude that pharmacy valerian is utterly ineffective! This is the only product I will purchase from now on!

Excellent quality and efficacy of valerian. For the best results, brew it cold. In the morning, add a teaspoon of the root to a glass of cold water to infuse under a lid at room temperature. In the evening, strain and drink slowly half an hour before bedtime. It relaxes perfectly, enhances sleep, and reduces the time it takes to fall asleep. If you have cats that react to valerian, keep them away; otherwise, competition for it might arise!

Sleep apnea is a common and potentially serious sleep disorder characterized by irregular breathing patterns during sleep. Individuals with sleep apnea experience episodes of disrupted or paused breathing, which can occur multiple times throughout the night. These interruptions can last a few seconds to several minutes and often lead to fragmented sleep, which may result in excessive daytime sleepiness, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. The condition can be broadly classified into two main types: obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), caused by a blockage of the upper airway, and central sleep apnea (CSA), which occurs when the brain fails to send the proper signals to the muscles that control breathing.
The diagnosis of sleep apnea typically involves a sleep study, either conducted in a sleep clinic or at home using portable monitoring devices. Treatment options vary depending on the severity of the condition but may include lifestyle changes, the use of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, oral appliances, or even surgery in some cases. If left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to various health complications, including cardiovascular issues, metabolic disorders, and impaired cognitive function, making it essential to consult a healthcare professional if you suspect you or someone you know may be affected by this disorder.

I have been using this for several years. I grind it and put it in capsules, taking three at a time. It has helped me to adapt better. Combining three valerian pills with two pills of school cap allows me to sleep peacefully, despite years of insomnia. Try crushing it for better results, even if it’s a bit tedious. The next day feels much better.

This high-quality herb is excellent for making relaxing evening tea; simply add some to your chamomile or regular tea. Valerian root promotes tranquillity and enhances sleep. It does have a strong herbal aroma, so I mix about 30% valerian with 70% chamomile when using my iHerb Tea Infuser.
